Mixed media artist and illustrator Jen Jovan finds malarkey everywhere in the wide world. She paints it into whimsical girls, moody abstracts and soulful creatures. The journey of her own life juxtaposes a riot of color, texture and play .
The foundation of her work is experimentation, discipline, repetition, tenacity, intuition and exploration, along with paint, pen and paper. Her studio is filled with fantastical beasts cavorting with ethereal abstracts, along with a few bossy queens and haughty princesses, all vying for attention. Jen’s faithful studio hound (a chihuahua named Wonder Mike) regularly checks the wastebasket for candy wrappers, and sometimes ends up with a nose full of paint instead.
